Got an early start Saturday. Sun just coming up.
Installed the Flap motor.
Don’t forget that the flap weldment needs to be 1/4″ above the floor and the flap motor at maximum extension before locating the holes for the top attachment. Turns out some tools are exactly 1/4″ thick. Hmm.
Sunday I started working on the baggage compartment top. Here I’m using back riveting tape to secure the rivets. This is by far the fastest way to rivet and produces the best results.
Installing nutplates is not an exciting job, especially when the nutplates are right up against a bulkhead or skin. It can be very difficult to get a microstop countersink in there for various reasons. Here’s my solution. About a half second’s worth of turning this countersink bit mounted on a 90 degree drill works perfectly.
Nice results.
Baggage floor temporarily installed.
I still haven’t determined if I want Power, Prop and Mixture in the throttle quadrant. I keep thinking that I want the Prop and Mixture below the panel and only Power in the quadrant. Sat in Skylors 8 today. He has all three. Just in case I’m going to drill all three holes in the F-864E.
Started to work on the left and right consoles.
