This is where I decided to locate the fresh air vent, on the unpainted aluminum bracket with the circular cutout center of picture.  This location has benefits and drawbacks.  Benefits are that the tube length is short so the airflow should be better than a circuitous route through the cabin.  Drawbacks are that it’s not on the panel.  I can reach it fine but it’s at least a foot further away than on the panel, where there is no room for it.

I haven’t mounted the vent and housing yet.  I’m using the el-cheapo Vans vents/housing and decided to seal the gaps with RTV before installing it.

For the first time, I sat in the pilots seat with some makeshift cushions to simulate the pilots position and noticed the rudder pedals were way to far forward.  Relocated them to the closest position.  I’m 5/10 and shortish legs and this works well.  May need to move them back one position when the seats and seat back are purchased and installed.  I’ll wait to cut the steel rudder pedal attachment plates, painted primer green in the photo.
