Trimmed the oil door opening leaving 3/8″ surround. I did not receive an oil door or inlet ramps so I’ll order them. They are $21 each so I’ll just buy instead of making them. I’m using the full size stainless hinge and it’s really a bear to slide in through the oil door. I may look into smaller diameter welding rod.
Back drilled the horizontal hinge using a light in the cowl. Before I can bond the hinge in place I need to relieve the gap for paint. You can see how the wider hinge on the bottom sticks up and covers the hinge gap.
