Took off the peel-ply and tape, sanded a bit and slathered a layer of micro on the rudder bottom.
Here’s the VS tip (left) and HS tips all ready for primer. The rightmost one looks significantly larger in this photo but actually, it’s not.
I’m attempting to mount the ACK ELT antenna on the last fuselage bulkhead between the VS and HS. Unfortunately ACK made this whip antenna with a 30 degree base. I made a couple of shims to counter some of the cant but it’s not enough and any more thickness to the shim and I won’t be able to get the serrated washer and nut on the backside. I’m going to look for a straight dual frequency antenna. I found one on Spruce website but it’s $169, ouch. Called ACK to find out what type of antenna I can use and they said that if it’s a two frequency antenna it will work. Not just need to find a cheap one.
