Purchased a Heavy Duty Push-Button Quick-Release Pin, Recessed-Button, 3/16″ Diameter, 1″ Usable Length P/N 92385A014 from McMaster.com
Drilled the correct size hole through both parts. This is very secure. The pin head can be positioned on the front or back side of the stick. There is no interference in either position. There is a small hole in the head for a lanyard but I don’t see the need at this time.
Took the pilots stick to the welder to get it TIG welded. Should have it back sometime next week.
