The canopy flies open and if there is any turbulence it slams closed and opens.  It&#8217;s not pretty.  With the tip over Showplanes canopy if it comes unlatched it Will depart the plane and hopefully it will miss the empennage.  But I don&#8217;t want to test that so I installed an adjustable microswitch which senses when the forward latching pin is in it&#8217;s fully extended position.
