Once I saw the RV-14 firewall forward pictures\u00a0and noted where Vans located the Red Cube flow meter I had a better understanding of where I wanted to put mine, and that was not on the firewall and not near the spider. \u00a0I could not place it in the exact same location because the mixture cable bracket had to be located on the underside of the sump\/engine flange instead of the top per plans, leaving too little room.<\/p>\n

Another\u00a0important item that determined where the Red Cube should be is the bend radius of a -6 (3\/8″) AE466 or AE666 hose which is 4 inches. \u00a0Cutting a half circle of 4″ radius showed me where I could place the RC in relation to the mechanical fuel pump. \u00a0 This is the best location for me.<\/p>\n

Built a little shelf out of some .060\u00a0stock with a generous bend radius. \u00a0It’s held in place with two adel clamps on the left side of the motor mount, one facing up and the other facing down. \u00a0This is a shot looking upwards.<\/p>\n

The output has a straight shot under the mixture bracket and then turns right to the fuel servo.<\/p>\n

Another picture. \u00a0You can see how the hose assembly will angle downwards about 60 degrees by looking at the output fitting on the mechanical fuel pump – top center.<\/p>\n

GPS Antenna Shelf installed. \u00a0It wasn’t as sturdy as I wanted after I added the lightening holes because I removed too much. \u00a0I added some small angle on the two diagonals. \u00a0Now its very stiff.<\/p>\n
