{"id":1228,"date":"2016-01-28T15:52:34","date_gmt":"2016-01-28T23:52:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/?p=1228"},"modified":"2016-01-29T16:11:12","modified_gmt":"2016-01-30T00:11:12","slug":"showplanes-canopy-interference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/?p=1228","title":{"rendered":"Showplanes Canopy Interference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I called Bryan at Showplanes about the need to trim the front\u00a0bulkhead. \u00a0I had the panel designed and cut well before starting on the showplanes canopy and I didn&#8217;t think there would be any interference but I also did not do my homework either to verify this. \u00a0He indicated that while it&#8217;s not ideal, it shouldn&#8217;t be an issue to trim the height of the bulkhead in my case. \u00a0The bulkhead will have to be relieved in four places. \u00a0Two on the right for the Autopilot and top right switch (removed in this photo). \u00a0This should not be an issue structurally and to make this structure more rigid I&#8217;ll cover it with carbon fiber instead of e-glass.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/image-43.jpeg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-1233\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1233\" src=\"http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/image-43-700x525.jpeg\" alt=\"image\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/image-43-700x525.jpeg 700w, http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/image-43-150x113.jpeg 150w, http:\/\/tondu.com\/rv8a\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/image-43-768x576.jpeg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the left side I need to relieve the topmost switch (flaps) and slightly for the audio panel. \u00a0 I could drill a hole below the lowest existing switch and move all four lower one notch but that would leave a hole in the side panel at the top, partially obscured by the bulkhead. \u00a0That would be the best option structurally but I&#8217;m really leaning to the &#8220;trim the bulkhead&#8221;
